Vietjet Forges Strategic Alliances with GMR and Bird Group to Revolutionize Indo-Vietnam Connectivity.

In a move that signals a tectonic shift in regional aviation, Vietjet has inked landmark cooperation agreements with two of India’s industrial titans: GMR Airports Limited and Bird Group. The signing ceremony, held at the high-profile India–Vietnam Business Forum, was graced by General Secretary and President of Vietnam To Lam, underscoring the diplomatic and economic weight of the alliance.

This tripartite synergy is designed to move beyond mere passenger transport. The partnership with GMR Airports—the world’s second-largest private airport operator—will see Vietjet exploring long-term investments in “smart airport” infrastructure and logistics. Simultaneously, the tie-up with Bird Group focuses on the technical backbone, targeting ground handling, aviation technology, and professional training.

Vietjet First Vice Chairman Dinh Viet Phuong emphasized that this partnership is a “bridge” for the Asia-Pacific region. With Vietjet already operating an impressive 25 routes and 80 flights per week, the airline has already moved over 2.5 million passengers between the two nations. This new phase of development aims to convert that passenger volume into a robust ecosystem of trade, technology, and sustainable tourism.
