Vietjet achieved its highest business results since the Covid-19 pandemic in 2024, recording substantial revenue growth, fleet expansion, and international route additions, including the launch of direct flights between Ahmedabad and Da Nang. The airline’s financial performance reflected strong operational recovery, with aviation revenue reaching VND71.545 trillion (approx. INR 245 billion) and after-tax profit exceeding VND1.301 trillion (approx. INR 4.5 billion), marking a YoY increase of 33% and 697%, respectively. In the final quarter of 2024 alone, aviation revenue surged by 36%, with after-tax profit rising by 247%.
Vietjet transported over 25.9 million passengers on 137,000 flights across 145 routes, including 44 domestic and 101 international destinations, positioning itself as the leading carrier in Vietnam. The airline successfully added 10 new aircraft in 2024, maintaining an average load factor of 87% and a technical reliability rate of 99.72%.
The airline further strengthened its international presence with new routes from Ha Noi to Kuala Lumpur and connections between Vietnam’s major cities and Hyderabad, Bangalore, Beijing, and Guangzhou. Vietjet also achieved a historic milestone by operating its first-ever flight from Vietnam to the United States, engaging in discussions worth approximately US$14 billion with strategic U.S. partners. These agreements build upon previous collaborations with Boeing, GE, CFM, Pratt & Whitney, and Honeywell, collectively valued at nearly US$50 billion. Additionally, the airline is exploring partnerships with SpaceX to introduce in-flight internet technology, embracing digital innovation for enhanced passenger experiences.
Looking ahead to 2025, Vietjet aims to continue expanding its global network while prioritizing sustainability and technological advancements. As Vietnam’s largest private carrier, the airline remains committed to strengthening international connectivity, facilitating trade and investment, and supporting cultural exchange worldwide.
