In a strong show of support following the recent terror attack targeting Indian tourists in Kashmir, the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), through its Tourism Committee, has expressed full solidarity with the Government of India and the Indian Armed Forces. The chamber commended the successful execution of Operation Sindoor and praised the country’s calibrated and resolute response to terrorism under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Acknowledging the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and the unwavering spirit of citizens in the border areas, the ICC stated that India has once again demonstrated its unity and strength on the global stage, sending a clear message that terrorism will not be tolerated in any form. The chamber affirmed that the fight against terrorism is a collective responsibility and called on all citizens and stakeholders to stand united.
The Indian Chamber of Commerce also joined other leading tourism associations in urging a boycott of countries such as Turkey and Azerbaijan in response to their stand against India’s actions on terrorism. The statement emphasized that national security must take precedence over commercial interests, especially in the tourism sector, which should act as a driver of peace, mutual respect, and global harmony.
Appealing to Indian travelers, the ICC encouraged choosing international destinations that are safe, peace-promoting, and aligned with India’s values of unity and anti-terrorism. The chamber reaffirmed its commitment to promoting ethical and responsible tourism practices that prioritize the safety, dignity, and national integrity of Indian citizens.
As one of the country’s oldest chambers of commerce, the ICC concluded by reiterating its dedication to supporting government initiatives that ensure national security and uphold India’s global image as a peaceful yet powerful nation.
