The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) has welcomed the Maharashtra Government’s move to allow shops, hotels, restaurants, and other establishments across the State to operate 24×7.
Calling it a “landmark reform,” HRAWI President Jimmy Shaw said the decision would give businesses greater operational flexibility, generate employment, and align with Mumbai’s global city aspirations as well as the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
HRAWI Spokesperson Pradeep Shetty added that while the relaxation currently excludes excise-licensed outlets serving liquor, extending similar flexibility to them would further strengthen the industry. “Nevertheless, this is a progressive step that will enhance ease of doing business, consumer convenience, and tourism inflows,” he said.
Marking its 75th year of service to the hospitality industry, HRAWI reiterated its commitment to working with the State Government to ensure effective implementation of the initiative.
