The initiative formed part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 and also marked the Closing Ceremony of Seva Parv & Swachhata Pakhwada (Special Campaign 5.0).
Around 20 ADTOI members, along with officials of Indiatourism Chennai, actively participated in the drive. The clean-up covered the stretch near the MGR Memorial and the lawns adjoining the Labour Statue.

In a gesture acknowledging the dignity of labour, conservancy workers were felicitated and served breakfast by Shri D. Venkatesan, Regional Director (South), Indiatourism Chennai.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri P. Ashok Kumar, Chairman, ADTOI Tamil Nadu Chapter, said the initiative not only promoted cleanliness and environmental awareness but also reinforced the spirit of public participation envisioned under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The event served as a reminder that Gandhiji’s philosophy of cleanliness and respect for labour continues to be a guiding force in building a sustainable and responsible society.
