Delhi to Host ‘Vande Matrushakti Mahotsav’, Highlighting India’s Spiritual & Cultural Tourism Fabric

Reinforcing Delhi’s position as a key hub for India’s spiritual and cultural tourism landscape, the national-level ‘Vande Matrushakti Mahotsav’ will be organised on 30 December at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath. The event is expected to draw cultural practitioners, spiritual leaders, and participants from multiple states, underlining the capital’s growing role as a destination for value-based and experiential travel.

Organised jointly by Shri Ganesh Seva Mandal Delhi (Regd.), Laxmi Nagar, and Rupamata Foundation, Dharashiv (Maharashtra), the Mahotsav marks the observance of Vande Matrushakti Mata Pujan Day—a nationwide initiative celebrating motherhood, Indian values, and spiritual traditions. The programme aims to bring together distinguished mothers and cultural ambassadors from across the country on a single platform, fostering inter-state cultural exchange.

The event will be presided over by Mrs. Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson, National Commission for Women, and will be attended by eminent personalities including Justice (Retd.) Gyansudha Mishra, BJP MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, senior spiritual leaders, and senior Delhi Police officials. Such high-profile participation further strengthens Delhi’s appeal for hosting nationally significant cultural gatherings.

A key highlight of the evening will be a devotional Bhajan Sandhya, featuring traditional compositions like Shiv Tandav, Abhangs, and Devi Gondhal, presented by renowned kirtankars and spiritual performers. These live cultural performances reflect India’s intangible heritage and are increasingly gaining interest among domestic spiritual travellers seeking immersive experiences.

The Mahotsav will also witness the release of the book “Vande Matrushakti”, showcasing inspiring life stories of Indian mothers who have contributed to nation-building through values and upbringing. The publication adds a knowledge and storytelling dimension to the event, aligning with India’s growing cultural tourism narrative.

With Delhi hosting a rising number of spiritual, cultural, and value-driven national events, platforms like the Vande Matrushakti Mahotsav highlight how such gatherings contribute to domestic travel movement, cultural tourism circuits, and the broader experiential travel economy.
