Indian regional airline FLY91 has leased two brand-new ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), marking a key milestone in its network expansion strategy. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery later this month from ATR’s facility in Toulouse, France, taking the airline’s total fleet strength to six aircraft.
Following the induction, FLY91 plans to enhance capacity, increase frequencies on existing routes, and expand services to Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Nanded, Dabolim, and Hubballi, further strengthening connectivity across India’s tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Commenting on the development, Manoj Chacko, CEO and Managing Director, FLY91, said the transaction reflects the airline’s focus on measured and financially disciplined growth, adding that the ATR 72-600 remains central to its operational philosophy due to its efficiency and suitability for short-haul regional routes.
FLY91 had earlier inducted its first two aircraft through DAE. Since commencing operations in March 2024, the airline has been steadily expanding its regional footprint, connecting Goa’s Manohar International Airport with destinations such as Solapur, Jalgaon and Agatti, while also linking major hubs including Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
