SpiceJet has announced its entry into Imphal, marking the airline’s first-ever operations to the capital of Manipur and further strengthening air connectivity to India’s Northeast.
As part of its expansion, the airline will introduce daily services linking Imphal with Kolkata, Guwahati and Mumbai, creating direct connections between the region and key commercial and transit hubs. The move is expected to improve access for both business and leisure travellers while reducing dependence on multi-stop routings.
For Imphal, the new flights are likely to play a catalytic role in boosting tourism inflows, trade linkages and people-to-people connectivity, while offering residents greater flexibility in travel planning. Enhanced air access is also expected to support the region’s growing relevance in India’s broader economic and tourism landscape.
SpiceJet’s Imphal launch underlines its focus on strengthening connectivity in underserved and high-potential regional markets, in line with the aviation sector’s wider push to deepen links with the Northeast. The airline continues to position itself as a key player in expanding domestic air networks and improving mobility across emerging destinations.
