In a significant move to strengthen Nepal’s global tourism outreach, the PATA Nepal Chapter (PNC) and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) have formally signed an agreement to jointly host the 6th edition of the Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM 2026). The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to positioning Nepal as a leading international tourism destination and enhancing its visibility in the global travel marketplace.
Scheduled to be held from June 1 to 4, 2026, at The Plaza Lalitpur, HTM 2026 is widely recognised as Nepal’s premier international B2B travel and tourism trade event. Over the years, the Himalayan Travel Mart has evolved into a dynamic platform that brings together global buyers, sellers, industry experts, media representatives, influencers, and key tourism stakeholders under one roof.
The agreement was signed by Deepak Raj Joshi on behalf of NTB and Narendra Bhatta, who also serves as the HTM Convener, on behalf of PNC. As per the agreement, NTB will take on the role of “Organizing Partner,” providing strategic coordination, facilitation, and financial support, particularly for hosted international delegates, including buyers, speakers, and media representatives. Meanwhile, PATA Nepal Chapter will lead the planning, promotion, and overall execution of the event.
HTM 2026 promises a comprehensive and engaging programme designed to showcase Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings. The event will feature pre-event familiarisation tours across key destinations such as Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Lumbini, and Sindhupalchowk, giving international delegates first-hand experience of the country’s cultural, spiritual, and natural attractions.
In addition, the event will host the HTM Insight Forum and conference sessions, offering a platform for thought leadership, knowledge exchange, and discussions on emerging trends in global tourism. Structured B2B meetings, networking events, and curated cultural experiences will further enhance opportunities for collaboration and business generation.
The continued partnership between NTB and PNC reflects a long-term vision of strengthening Nepal’s position in the global tourism landscape. By bringing together international stakeholders and facilitating meaningful engagement, HTM 2026 aims to drive inbound tourism, promote sustainable practices, and create new avenues for growth within the industry.
Positioned as the “Gateway to the Himalayas” and a destination offering a “Lifetime Experience,” Nepal has steadily gained prominence among global travellers seeking authentic and immersive travel experiences. The Himalayan Travel Mart has played a pivotal role in amplifying this positioning, serving as a key platform for promoting the country’s unique blend of adventure, spirituality, culture, and nature.
As global travel continues to rebound and evolve, initiatives like HTM 2026 are expected to play a crucial role in shaping destination marketing strategies and fostering international partnerships. With strong institutional backing and a well-curated programme, the upcoming edition of the Himalayan Travel Mart is set to further elevate Nepal’s standing as a must-visit destination on the global tourism map.
