TAFI J&K Chapter Hosts 3rd Bi-Monthly Meeting with AI Masterclass and Felicitation Ceremony in Srinagar

The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), J&K Chapter, successfully hosted its 3rd Bi-Monthly Meeting on April 16, 2026, at Hotel Palm Spring, Srinagar, drawing a full house of members and key stakeholders from the travel and tourism industry.

The meeting marked a significant milestone for the Chapter, featuring a series of knowledge-driven sessions and industry presentations. For the first time, Asego Global Insurance, GRN Connect, and noted AI expert Aman Kaushik conducted engaging presentations, including a highly impactful AI Masterclass tailored for travel professionals.

The session underscored the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in transforming the travel and tourism sector, with attendees appreciating the practical insights and forward-looking perspective shared during the workshop.

Felicitation Ceremony Recognises Industry Stalwarts

A key highlight of the event was an elaborate felicitation ceremony honouring distinguished personalities and contributors to the tourism fraternity.

Tribute to Former Chairmen

The Chapter paid tribute to its former Chairmen for their visionary leadership and foundational contributions:

  • Manzoor Pakhtoon, Founder Chairman
  • Shamim Shah, Immediate Past Chairman and current National Managing Committee Member

Their efforts were acknowledged as instrumental in shaping and strengthening the TAFI J&K Chapter.

Torch Bearer Awards for Veteran Members

In recognition of their long-standing association with TAFI, the “Torch Bearer Award” was presented to:

  • Mohd Akram Siah (Member since 2001)
  • Zahoor Ahmad Qari (Member since 2017)

Both were commended for their continued dedication and commitment to the industry.

Special Honour for Tourism Veteran

A special recognition was conferred upon Nasir Shah for his remarkable 48 years of service to the tourism sector. Widely regarded as a guiding force within the fraternity, his contribution continues to inspire industry stakeholders.

Industry Contributors Felicitated

The Chapter also honoured individuals who have made notable contributions to the sector:

  • Faiz A. Bakshi was recognised as the “Green Ambassador of Kashmir” for his environmental initiatives and efforts toward enhancing green cover in the region.
  • Abroo Ratta of Honeygold was felicitated for her outstanding contribution spanning over two decades and was conferred the title of “First Woman Entrepreneur of the Kashmir Tourism Industry.”

In addition, airline partners IndiGo and Air India were acknowledged for their continued support to the travel trade.
Asego Global Insurance, GRN Connect, and Aman Kaushik were also honoured for their valuable knowledge-sharing sessions.

Focus on Learning and Industry Collaboration

As part of the initiative to promote wider industry participation, AI Masterclass participation certificates were distributed to non-TAFI members, encouraging the adoption of emerging technologies within the travel ecosystem.

The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, followed by an interactive networking session over a traditional Wazwan dinner, reflecting the cultural richness of the region.
