Uzbekistan Intensifies India Outreach with Hyderabad and Chennai Roadshows

Uzbekistan is strengthening its focus on India’s rapidly growing outbound travel market through a series of targeted trade engagements, including recently concluded tourism roadshows in Hyderabad and Chennai.

Organised by the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India, the back-to-back B2B events brought together more than 70 leading travel agents and tour operators, aimed at enhancing destination awareness and expanding trade partnerships in one of the world’s fastest-growing outbound travel markets.

The roadshows followed Uzbekistan’s participation at major Indian travel trade exhibitions including OTM Mumbai 2026 and SATTE 2026 earlier this year, reflecting the country’s sustained long-term strategy for the Indian market.

Addressing the events, Ambassador Sardor Mirzayusupovich Rustambaev highlighted Uzbekistan’s Silk Road heritage, UNESCO-listed cities and growing appeal across leisure, group travel and MICE tourism segments.

A major focus of the roadshows was improving connectivity between India and Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan Airways showcased its expanding India operations, including its recent codeshare partnership with Air India covering routes such as Delhi–Tashkent, Mumbai–Tashkent and seasonal Goa–Tashkent services.

The airline has also recently launched direct flights between New Delhi and Namangan, improving access to Uzbekistan’s Fergana Valley region and further strengthening tourism and business connectivity between the two countries.
