IndiGo to Become First Airline to Launch Operations from Noida International Airport

IndiGo will become the first airline to commence commercial operations from Noida International Airport on 15 June 2026, marking a major milestone for aviation infrastructure in the National Capital Region.

Located in Jewar along the Yamuna Expressway, the airport will become the third major airport serving the NCR region and is expected to significantly strengthen regional and domestic connectivity.

IndiGo plans to progressively connect the new airport to more than 16 destinations across India, including major metro cities such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad, alongside several Tier-2 and Tier-3 destinations including Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Jaipur, Lucknow, Srinagar, Jammu, Jodhpur, Dehradun and Bareilly.

The launch highlights IndiGo’s continued focus on expanding connectivity beyond major metros while supporting the growth of emerging aviation hubs across the country.

Industry observers note that the opening of Noida International Airport is expected to ease congestion at Delhi’s existing aviation infrastructure while accelerating economic, tourism and logistics development across western Uttar Pradesh and the broader NCR corridor.

The development also reinforces India’s wider aviation growth strategy centred around regional connectivity, infrastructure expansion and rising domestic air travel demand.
