SriLankan Airlines launches new daytime flight between Bangalore and Colombo

SriLankan Airlines is set to enhance connectivity between India and Sri Lanka with the launch of a new daytime flight service between Bangalore and Colombo, beginning October 31, 2024. This new route will increase the total number of weekly flights between the two cities to 10, providing Indian travellers with even more flexibility for both holiday and business trips.

Flight UL 1174 will depart from Bangalore at 9:40 AM every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, arriving in Colombo at 11:10 AM. The return flight, UL 1173, will leave Colombo at 7:20 AM and land in Bangalore at 8:40 AM on the same day. The strategic timing of these flights allows travellers to maximize their time in Sri Lanka, offering more daytime hours for leisure or work while ensuring a convenient weekend getaway.

With Sri Lanka becoming an increasingly popular destination for Indian travellers, particularly in the holiday and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sectors, this new flight schedule caters perfectly to the needs of short-trip travellers. Whether it’s a relaxing beach retreat, exploring the island’s historical temples, or enjoying the cooler climate of Sri Lanka’s central province, the island’s compact size makes it possible to pack a variety of experiences into just a few days.

The new flight timings are especially attractive to Bengalureans looking to make the most of a long weekend in Sri Lanka, with easy return options that allow them to arrive home just in time for the start of a new work week.

In addition to the new daytime service, SriLankan Airlines will continue operating its existing daily flights between Bangalore and Colombo. Frequent flyers can also take advantage of SriLankan Airlines’ FlySmiLes program, earning miles for their travels on the new flights. Travelers will also enjoy delicious Indian cuisine onboard and the warm hospitality for which the airline is known.

SriLankan Airlines already operates nearly 90 flights weekly between India and Sri Lanka, connecting nine Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, and Bangalore, making it one of the most accessible international destinations for Indian travellers.
