The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department organized the grand ‘Mahakumbh 2025 Prelude’ event at The Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi, highlighting preparations for the world’s largest spiritual gathering, Mahakumbh 2025, scheduled to take place in Prayagraj. The event was graced by Union Minister of Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, along with dignitaries, ambassadors, and officials from various ministries.
Showcasing India’s Spiritual Heritage
Union Minister Shekhawat emphasized the Mahakumbh’s role in showcasing India’s spiritual and cultural richness. He described the event as a platform for global unity and cultural exchange, encouraging international visitors to experience the transformative power of Mahakumbh.
Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh underscored the gathering’s significance as a symbol of India’s philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family). He invited global travelers to witness the event’s grandeur, which aims to set new benchmarks in religious tourism.
Infrastructure and Visitor Amenities
Principal Secretary of Tourism Mukesh Kumar Meshram detailed the infrastructural preparations, including a luxury tent city near the Parade Ground, offering accommodations like Maharaja tents, villas, and deluxe tents. Over 1,600 Swiss cottages are being constructed across key locations, complemented by helicopter rides and water sports to enrich the visitor experience.
Global Participation and Cultural Showcase
The event featured an exhibition, cultural performances, and films about Mahakumbh 2025, attracting diplomats from countries like Suriname, Malaysia, Seychelles, Nepal, and Switzerland. The gathering highlighted global interest in the iconic spiritual event, which is expected to draw over 40 crore devotees.
The ‘Mahakumbh 2025 Prelude’ concluded with vibrant discussions, a review of infrastructure models, and an open invitation for all to participate in this unparalleled celebration of spirituality and culture.
