Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, has announced the purchase of six Airbus A320 CEO aircraft currently leased and part of its fleet. This move, aimed at reducing costs and addressing supply chain challenges affecting aircraft deliveries, forms part of the airline’s broader transformation and strategic growth plan.
The decision aligns with Jazeera’s goal of operational resilience and cost efficiency, particularly as the airline approaches its 20th anniversary in 2025. By transitioning to ownership, Jazeera aims to mitigate delays in new aircraft deliveries and enhance its competitive position.
Chairman Marwan Boodai highlighted the significance of the acquisition:
“Investing in these six Airbus A320 aircraft underscores our commitment to operational efficiency and passenger experience. This move strengthens our fleet management strategy and positions us as a sustainable and innovative airline, delivering value to customers and shareholders alike.”
Jazeera Airways currently operates a fleet of 24 aircraft, including 13 A320 CEO and 11 A320 NEO, serving over 60 destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe. Its fleet expansion plans include 26 new Airbus A320 family aircraft, with deliveries of 18 A320 NEO and 8 A321 NEO starting in 2026.
The airline also plans to expand its route network, introduce advanced in-flight services, and adopt cutting-edge technologies to enhance passenger experience while maintaining high safety standards.
