Strengthening regional air connectivity and opening new tourism corridors, Air India Express has announced the launch of direct flights between Pune and Bagdogra, starting May 1, 2026. The service will operate five times a week, offering greater flexibility for both leisure and business travellers.
This new route is strategically significant as Bagdogra serves as the primary gateway to some of India’s most sought-after hill destinations, including Darjeeling, Sikkim, and the broader Eastern Himalayas. With direct connectivity now in place, travellers from western India can access these regions more conveniently, reducing travel time and dependency on connecting flights.
