Gulf Air (GF), the national carrier of Bahrain, has announced significant adjustments to its flight operations in India for the summer 2025 season. These changes include both expansions and reductions to optimize operations and better align with passenger demand across key Indian cities.
Starting 31st March 2025, Gulf Air will double its flight frequency to Bengaluru (BLR), increasing from 7 weekly flights to 14, reflecting strong demand in the region. Similarly, flights to Goa’s Dabolim Airport (GOI) will increase to daily operations, up from the current four weekly flights, showcasing the airline’s commitment to catering to the growing travel demand in the region.
Conversely, Gulf Air will end its services to Kozhikode (CCJ), with the last flight departing on 28th March 2025. The airline, which currently operates four weekly flights to the Malabar Coast city, has not provided a clear reason for this move, though competition with Air India Express (AIX) may be a factor.
In Kochi (COK), Gulf Air will reduce flight frequency to three times a week starting 6th April 2025, down from the current four weekly flights. The airline competes with Air India Express in this sector, which operates six weekly flights between Kochi and Bahrain.
These strategic changes demonstrate Gulf Air’s efforts to enhance efficiency while addressing market-specific demands across its India network.
