Hyatt Hits the Fast Lane in China: Mega-Deal with Dossen Group to Launch ‘Hyatt Select’

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a massive expansion of its footprint in Mainland China through a master franchise agreement with Huanyue International Holdings, a subsidiary of the Dossen Group. This exclusive partnership is set to launch and scale the Hyatt Select brand, specifically targeting China’s rapidly growing upper-midscale traveler.

The move marks a pivot for Hyatt toward the “Essentials” portfolio, catering to modern, on-the-go travelers who demand international consistency at an accessible price point. The Hyatt Select brand will feature tech-driven check-ins, 24/7 self-service markets, and multifunctional lobbies, all fully integrated with the World of Hyatt loyalty program’s 66-million-plus global members.

Stephen Ho, President of Greater China for Hyatt, noted that Dossen’s massive local scale and tech-focused operations make them the “ideal partner” for this rollout. For Dossen Group, the deal adds a prestigious international brand to its portfolio, while Hyatt gains immediate access to a development pipeline that would otherwise take decades to build independently.
