Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Taj branded hotel in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The hotel is a greenfield project. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, IHCL said, “Kanpur’s recent inclusion among India’s smart cities, coupled with significant infrastructural advancements, is providing a fillip to the city’s hospitality landscape. This signing signifies our strategic focus on expanding our portfolio in emerging markets with strong growth potential. We are delighted to partner with JK Urbanscapes for this venture.”
The 150-key hotel is strategically located in the heart of the city. It will feature an all-day dining, a bar, two specialty restaurants, and J Wellness Circle spa. Additionally, the hotel will boast over 10,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, providing versatile event spaces.

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 26 hotels in Uttar Pradesh including 13 under development.
