IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has commenced operations from Puducherry, marking its 89th domestic destination in the 6E network. Daily direct flights between Bengaluru-Puducherry and Puducherry-Hyderabad have begun, enhancing connectivity to the ‘French Riviera of the East.’ These exclusive flights underscore IndiGo’s commitment to affordable and hassle-free travel across India.
Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed excitement about the launch, highlighting Puducherry’s appeal with its serene beaches, French colonial architecture, and peaceful cafes. Known for its unique blend of Indian and French cultures, Puducherry offers diverse experiences, from the tranquil Promenade Beach to the spiritual hub of Auroville. Recently recognized as a globally trending must-visit destination for 2025, the coastal town is now more accessible to travellers.
The new flights also strengthen connectivity to Bengaluru, India’s high-tech hub, renowned for landmarks like Cubbon Park, Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, and Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens. Similarly, Hyderabad, the “City of Pearls,” offers historical gems like Charminar, Chowmahalla Palace, and the Salar Jung Museum, alongside its dynamic IT industry.
