Loganair, the UK’s largest regional airline, has reported a £6.9 million profit for the financial year ending March 31, 2024, marking another year of profitability despite industry challenges. The airline, employing over 850 staff, operates 36 aircraft across 60 routes and carried more than 1.5 million passengers during the year. It also provided charter services for the Oil & Gas industry and fulfilled a multi-year Royal Mail contract.
A major milestone for Loganair in 2024 was completing its fleet transition to ATR aircraft, retiring the last Saab 340 in January. The newer ATR aircraft offer quieter cabins, more spacious overhead lockers, and additional seating, enhancing customer comfort and supporting increased tourism across Scotland and its islands.
Loganair CEO Luke Farajallah highlighted the airline’s resilience amid supply chain issues, operational disruptions, and inflationary pressures in 2023. He noted significant progress in reducing delays, cancellations, and associated costs, while also improving customer experiences through aircraft cabin upgrades, website enhancements, and streamlined airport processes.
“Our focus in 2024 has been on improving operational performance, reducing disruption costs, and laying solid foundations for the airline’s next phase of growth,” Farajallah stated. “I am confident these changes will drive strong future financial performance and a bright future for our investors, employees, and customers.”
Loganair’s continued investment underscores its commitment to sustainable operations and maintaining vital regional and lifeline connectivity across the UK.
