Niyo Launches ‘Spend Smart. Save Smart.’ Campaign to Help Indian Students Studying Abroad Save Big on International Payments

In a strategic move to empower Indian students pursuing higher education overseas, leading travel banking fintech platform Niyo has rolled out its latest digital campaign, ‘Spend Smart. Save Smart.’ The campaign is designed to target digitally savvy students and their decision-making parents through popular platforms such as JioCinema, SonyLIV, YouTube, and Instagram.

With over 1.8 million Indian students studying abroad in 2025 a sharp rise from 1.3 million in 2023, according to the Ministry of External Affairs — the financial burden of international education has become a pressing concern. Niyo’s new campaign directly addresses this challenge by offering two standout features: a zero forex markup card and fee-free international money transfers.

These offerings eliminate hidden charges, SWIFT fees, platform charges, and currency conversion markups helping students save up to ₹2 lakh annually on international expenses including tuition fees, rent, and daily spending. Niyo’s globally accepted card works in over 180 countries and is trusted by more than five lakh Indian students across 2,000+ universities.

“For many Indian families, sending a child abroad is a transformational investment. But hidden financial charges can silently eat into their savings,” said Smriti Advani, VP – Brand Marketing at Niyo. “With this campaign, we’re not just promoting a product we’re giving students control over their finances, enabling every rupee to go further.”

The campaign also reflects the evolving mindset of Gen Z students, who seek transparency, control, and real value. “This generation wants proof, not promises. ‘Spend Smart. Save Smart.’ speaks directly to their aspirations financially confident, informed, and independent,” Advani added.
