In a significant move to expand its international presence, Vietjet has partnered with Qazaq Air to launch a new airline brand, Vietjet Qazaqstan. The announcement was made during Vietnamese General Secretary To Lam’s state visit to Kazakhstan, marking a major milestone in Vietjet’s global strategy and enhancing cooperation between Central and Southeast Asia.
As part of the agreement, Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance issued a Foreign Investment Registration Certificate to Aviation Holdings, a Vietjet subsidiary, authorizing it to acquire a strategic equity stake in Qazaq Air. Building on Qazaq Air’s operational platform, Vietjet Qazaqstan will function as a new-age low-cost carrier focused on enhancing regional air connectivity and stimulating growth in tourism, trade, and logistics across Asia.
In parallel, Vietjet Qazaqstan and Boeing signed a comprehensive Customer Services General Terms Agreement to support the airline’s future Boeing 737 fleet. This deal includes software systems, spare parts, technical assistance, and extensive pilot and engineer training, alongside aircraft upgrades to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
The new airline aims to operate a fleet of at least 20 Boeing 737 aircraft, rapidly expanding both domestic and international routes. It will leverage modern digital management systems, advanced operational models, and continuous technical support from Vietjet to offer efficient and affordable travel options in the region.
This strategic venture reinforces Vietjet’s reputation as a leading Vietnamese enterprise fostering international collaboration and delivering economic value aligned with national interests. Following the successful model of Vietjet Thailand, Vietjet Qazaqstan reflects the carrier’s ambition to establish a strong foothold in key global markets.
As part of its broader growth plan, Vietjet recently launched new direct routes connecting India’s Hyderabad and Bengaluru with Ho Chi Minh City, as well as flights from Vietnam to major cities in China and Japan, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.
Guided by its mission to enhance global connectivity and social responsibility, Vietjet continues to position itself as a dynamic and forward-looking airline. With its expanding international network and commitment to innovation, Vietjet Qazaqstan marks the latest chapter in the airline’s journey toward strengthening Vietnam’s presence on the global aviation map.
