VietJet opens new direct route to Australia

VietJet has started direct flights connecting one of Australia’s largest cities – Melbourne with Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. With Vietnam acting as a hub for Southeast Asia, the recently inaugurated route will help VietJet facilitate the movement of international travellers, boosting tourism & trade between the two continents.

This route is Vietjet’s sixth route connecting Vietnam and Australia, with two round trips every Tuesday and Saturday. The airline currently operates 58 weekly flights connecting Australia and Vietnam and will launch the Sydney—Hanoi route on June 8, 2024.

With the two new routes, Vietjet has further solidified their position as the largest airline operating between Vietnam and Australia. In India, it has also established several strategic expansions, operating a total of 29 weekly round-trip flights and creating direct connections between Vietnam and four key Indian cities – New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kochi.
