Vietnam Airlines, the national carrier of Vietnam, has officially launched its first direct flight from Bengaluru to Hanoi, marking a significant step in its India expansion strategy. With four weekly flights operated by the modern Airbus A321, the airline now connects the tech hub of India directly with the Vietnamese capital, offering passengers a premium flying experience that includes comfortable seating, curated Indian meal options, and renowned Vietnamese hospitality.
With this launch, Vietnam Airlines is now operational in three major Indian metros—Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru—strengthening its presence in the fast-growing South Indian market. The inaugural flight was celebrated at Kempegowda International Airport with a ceremonial cake-cutting event attended by airport officials, Vietnam Airlines representatives, and Aeroprime Group executives. Travelers also enjoyed engaging activities, photo opportunities, and exhibits highlighting Karnataka’s cultural heritage.
Nguyen Trung Hieu, Country Manager India, Vietnam Airlines, highlighted South India’s importance in the airline’s growth plans and emphasized the convenience and enhanced service these new flights bring to Indian travelers. Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director of Aeroprime Group, India’s GSA for Vietnam Airlines, echoed the sentiment, calling the Bengaluru launch a key milestone that offers South Indian travelers seamless access to Vietnam and beyond.
Vietnam Airlines now operates 18 weekly flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, and is set to launch direct flights from Hyderabad next week, further deepening tourism, cultural, and business ties between India and Vietnam.
