Air India to Launch Daily Delhi–Gaya Flights from September 1, 2025, Boosting Religious and Regional Tourism

Air India has announced the launch of daily direct flights between Delhi and Gaya starting from September 1, 2025, enhancing regional connectivity and supporting religious tourism. Operated by Airbus A320 aircraft, the new service marks Gaya as the 46th domestic destination in Air India’s growing network and brings full-service flying to the city for the first time. This strategic move reflects the airline’s commitment to strengthening domestic air travel infrastructure and making significant religious sites more accessible to travellers.

Gaya, renowned as the gateway to Bodh Gaya—one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in Buddhism—is expected to benefit greatly from this new route. The daily flights are tailored to meet the needs of religious pilgrims and spiritual tourists, offering a reliable and comfortable travel option. The initiative is also set to support international arrivals, especially from countries with large Buddhist populations.

The flight schedule is designed to facilitate seamless one-stop connections for travellers from key Asian cities such as Bangkok, Kathmandu, Singapore, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul-Incheon, and Tokyo-Haneda. This timing is aimed at boosting inbound tourism from Southeast and East Asia, reinforcing Gaya’s position as a global hub for spiritual and cultural tourism.

Flight AI429 will depart from Delhi at 14:30 and arrive in Gaya at 16:05, while the return flight AI430 will take off from Gaya at 16:40 and reach Delhi by 18:00.
