PM Modi Inaugurates Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum Honouring Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh in Chhattisgarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated to the nation the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial-cum-Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, a landmark tribute celebrating the valour and sacrifice of India’s tribal heroes.Located in the heart of Chhattisgarh, the newly built museum immortalises the legacy of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, whose defiance against British rule ignited the tribal resistance movement in the region. Spread across 14 curated galleries and featuring over 650 sculptures, the ₹50-crore museum brings to life centuries of tribal courage through digital storytelling and immersive exhibits.Calling it a “living symbol of India’s unsung warriors,” the Prime Minister praised Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and his team for turning a long-cherished vision into reality. “This museum doesn’t just preserve history—it inspires every generation to uphold the spirit of freedom,” he said after touring the galleries.The ceremony also witnessed the unveiling of a grand statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, the launch of an e-booklet “Aadi Shaurya”, and the symbolic planting of a sapling under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative.Present at the event were Governor Ramen Deka, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, and several senior officials from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, along with descendants of Veer Narayan Singh—making it a day steeped in emotion and pride for the people of Chhattisgarh.
