
The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) (HRAWI) hosted the 7th edition of its Conclave and Awards for ‘Empowering Hospitality’ on April 29 at Regenta – The World in Surat, bringing together key stakeholders from across South Gujarat’s hospitality ecosystem.
The event recognised outstanding contributions across innovation, sustainability, leadership and operational excellence, honouring both established institutions and emerging players shaping the region’s hospitality landscape. A special felicitation was accorded to Chander Baljee of Royal Orchid Hotels, while Arun Shetty and Sanat Relia of SHARA were also recognised for their industry contributions.
Among the key awardees, Bharat Shah received the Lifetime Achievement Award, while leading hospitality brands including Marriott Surat, Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, and Park Inn by Radisson were recognised across multiple categories.
The conclave also featured panel discussions on critical industry issues such as food adulteration, fire safety protocols, and adoption of alternative fuels in hospitality operations.
The Surat edition marks another milestone in HRAWI’s ongoing initiative to promote dialogue and excellence across the western region’s hospitality sector.
