Delhi Tourism & Transportation Development Corporation has outlined a major roadmap to reposition Delhi as a global tourism destination, moving beyond its traditional role as a transit hub.
At a high-level stakeholders conference attended by over 200 industry leaders, the government unveiled a comprehensive strategy focusing on MICE infrastructure, heritage and experiential tourism, digital distribution, night economy, and medical tourism.
In a significant move, Delhi Tourism signed four MoUs with Agoda, MakeMyTrip, Sabhyata Foundation and MakeMyTrip Foundation to strengthen digital outreach, cultural programming, and visitor infrastructure.
The initiative also includes plans to develop curated heritage and spiritual circuits, enhance branding through global campaigns, and improve on-ground experiences with sustainable mobility solutions such as electric tourist buses.
The strategy will feed into the upcoming Delhi Master Tourism Policy 2026–2047, signalling a long-term push to position the capital as a destination offering diverse, experience-led tourism.
