HTM 2026 Gains Momentum with 70+ Global Buyers, Nepal Sharpens Focus on MICE and Wedding Tourism

Registration for Himalayan Travel Mart 2026 is gathering pace, with more than 70 international buyers already confirmed from key global source markets, signalling strong industry interest in Nepal’s evolving tourism offerings.
The confirmed buyers include over 30 delegates from ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar, aligning with ASEAN Tourism Year 2026. Additional participation is expected from India, Bangladesh, China, Japan, Korea, Russia, Europe and Australia.
In a strategic move to strengthen Nepal’s positioning in the high-value MICE and wedding tourism segments, the PATA Nepal Chapter has partnered with the India Convention Promotion Bureau, the Network of Indian MICE Agents and the Global Association of Events and Hospitality Professionals.
The collaboration is expected to bring more than 15 leading MICE and wedding planners to the event, reflecting Nepal’s growing ambitions to attract premium group travel, destination weddings and international business events.
The development highlights Nepal’s broader tourism diversification strategy, moving beyond adventure tourism to position the country as a competitive regional destination for experiential events and destination celebrations.
