Arunachal CM Sets Vision for a Global North East Tourism Push at ITM Sikkim

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister marked his presence at the 13th International Tourism Mart in Sikkim, calling it a proud moment for the entire North East. He said the Government of India’s forward-looking policies have played a key role in shaping a stronger, more sustainable tourism ecosystem for the region.
Expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism and the Sikkim Government, the CM noted that ITM has become a crucial platform to showcase the North East’s breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditions to the world.
He highlighted the significant impact of flagship schemes such as Swadesh Darshan, PRASAD and UDAN, which are enhancing tourism infrastructure and improving connectivity across the region. Strengthening road networks, airport links and railway access has made the North East more reachable than ever before.
Emphasising sustainable tourism, the CM said that preserving the region’s natural beauty and cultural identity remains the top priority. He added that youth in the region are being trained and skilled to create meaningful employment opportunities within the tourism sector. Regional cooperation, he said, is driving collective growth for the North East’s tourism economy.
Thanking all stakeholders, he concluded by saying that a new era of opportunity has begun for North East tourism.
