Akasa Air has launched direct flights between Gwalior and New Delhi, further expanding regional air connectivity and strengthening access to one of North India’s key Tier-2 destinations.
The inaugural flight departed from Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport at 11:50 hrs and landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 13:10 hrs. The launch was virtually inaugurated by Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, highlighting the government’s continued focus on improving regional air links.
The new route is expected to enhance business and leisure travel between Gwalior and the national capital, offering faster access for tourists visiting the region’s heritage sites as well as improved connectivity for local residents and industries.
The launch was marked by a ceremonial event at Gwalior airport, including the felicitation of the first passenger and a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony, reflecting growing momentum in regional aviation.
With this addition, Akasa Air continues to expand its domestic network, aligning with the broader push towards Tier-2 and Tier-3 connectivity under India’s regional aviation growth strategy.
