SWISS International Air Lines is strengthening its India operations by maintaining double daily nonstop flights between Zurich and Delhi through 11 July 2026, responding to a sharp rise in demand for direct Europe–Asia connectivity.
The airline is operating its regular daily service alongside an additional rotation using Airbus A330 aircraft, effectively doubling capacity on the route. This expansion comes as more travellers opt for nonstop flights, with reduced preference for transit via Gulf hubs amid ongoing regional disruptions.
The move underscores Zurich–Delhi’s growing importance as a key long-haul corridor, offering Indian travellers greater flexibility and reliability in international travel. It also reflects a broader industry trend, where airlines are reallocating capacity towards high-demand point-to-point routes while managing operational constraints such as fleet availability, traffic rights and airport slots.
With demand shifting towards direct connectivity, SWISS’s decision highlights a strategic pivot in network planning, prioritising resilience and passenger convenience over traditional hub-based routing.
