Morocco Strengthens India Outreach Through Multi-City ‘Kingdom of Light Showcase’ Roadshow

Seeking to deepen its engagement with the Indian travel trade, the Moroccan National Tourism Office recently concluded its multi-city ‘Kingdom of Light Showcase’ roadshow across Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The initiative brought together 14 tourism stakeholders from Morocco who interacted with more than 300 travel trade professionals across the four cities.

The roadshow highlighted Morocco’s growing appeal among Indian travellers, showcasing its blend of heritage, culture, luxury experiences, desert landscapes, and experiential tourism offerings. The Delhi edition was attended by Mohamed Maliki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to India, who underlined the strong bilateral ties between the two countries and emphasised tourism as an important bridge connecting people and cultures.

According to the tourism board, Indian arrivals to Morocco have witnessed remarkable growth in recent years, rising by 224 per cent since 2019. In 2025 alone, the destination welcomed 53,697 Indian visitors, registering a 31 per cent year-on-year increase. Tourism officials believe improved air connectivity, rising destination awareness, and growing interest in experiential international travel are contributing to the surge.

Jamal Kilito, Country Manager – India for the tourism office, said India continues to emerge as one of Morocco’s most strategically important source markets. He added that the response received from the Indian travel trade during the roadshow reaffirmed the destination’s growing popularity and the potential for stronger long-term partnerships.

With major infrastructure expansion underway ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host, the destination is further strengthening its tourism readiness. The tourism board has now set a target of attracting 75,000 Indian visitors in 2026 as it intensifies promotional and trade engagement activities in the Indian market.
