Anantara Enters the U.S. with Landmark Miami Project, Redefining Luxury Living*

In a bold entry into the world’s most competitive luxury hospitality market, Minor Hotels is bringing its flagship experiential brand Anantara to the United States with a landmark development in Miami—signalling a new era of integrated luxury living.

The upcoming Anantara Miami Resort & Residences is not just another high-rise—it is being positioned as a lifestyle-defining project that blends hospitality, private ownership, and wellness into a single, future-ready ecosystem.

Rising 50 storeys and 650 feet above Biscayne Bay in Miami’s fast-evolving Edgewater district, the project places Anantara at the intersection of culture and design—nestled between the city’s Design District and Wynwood, two of its most dynamic creative hubs.

More Than a Hotel—A New Urban Living Model

Set for completion in 2030, the development will feature a carefully curated mix of 100 private branded residences, 120 resort residences, and 50 hotel suites. But the real story lies in its concept.

This is part of a growing global shift where luxury is no longer defined by opulence alone, but by experience, wellbeing, and time.

The project introduces a fully integrated lifestyle model—where residents and guests coexist within a hospitality-driven environment, supported by services traditionally reserved for high-end resorts.

A dedicated vitality centre will anchor the wellness offering, combining movement, nutrition, and recovery programmes. Drawing inspiration from Thai healing traditions and merging them with modern longevity science, the development reflects the rising demand for wellness-centric living among global elites.

Design Meets Global Prestige

Architecturally, the project is being led by Kohn Pedersen Fox—the global firm behind iconic structures like One Vanderbilt in New York—ensuring a skyline-defining presence.

Interiors are being designed by Patricia Urquiola, marking her first residential project in the United States, adding a layer of global design credibility and exclusivity.

From a private rooftop helipad to curated hospitality experiences and seamless access to Miami’s cultural ecosystem, every element is designed to cater to ultra-high-net-worth individuals seeking more than just a residence.

Strategic Entry into the U.S. Market

For Minor Hotels, this marks a significant milestone.

Despite operating over 640 properties across 63 countries, the absence of Anantara in the U.S. has long been seen as a gap in its global portfolio. This project not only fills that gap but positions Miami as the brand’s gateway into North America.

Founder and Chairman William E. Heinecke summed up the philosophy succinctly—highlighting that true luxury today lies in time, freedom, and deeper experiences rather than material excess.

The Bigger Trend: Experience-Led Luxury Real Estate

The Miami development reflects a broader global trend where hospitality brands are increasingly entering branded residences and mixed-use luxury ecosystems. The lines between hotels, homes, and wellness retreats are blurring, giving rise to a new category of “liveable luxury destinations.”

Developers, including One Thousand Group, are betting big on this convergence—combining ownership, hospitality services, and longevity-focused living into a unified offering.

With this project, Miami further cements its position as a global hotspot for next-generation luxury developments—while Anantara makes a powerful statement: its U.S. debut will not just participate in the market, but aim to redefine it.
