Etihad Airways announces expansion in key destinations

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is meeting customer demand by adding more flights to key destinations across the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. The latest increase means the airline now offers almost 27% per cent more weekly departures than last summer.

The airline is increasing flights to Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Amman in Jordan, Beirut in Lebanon, as well as Colombo in Sri Lanka, and Kolkata and Bangalore in India.

Beginning June 15, 2024, the carrier is adding one more flight to its weekly operations in Kolkata, resulting in it operating eight flights per week to the city of joy. On the same date,  Etihad is adding three flights per week on the Bangalore sector, resulting in 17 flights per week to the city.

Starting January 1, 2024, the airline has started operating seven flights per week to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.

The enhancements are part of Etihad’s ambitious expansion of flights and frequencies to further boost Abu Dhabi’s global reach offering more flexible travel options for its guests.

Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer Arik De said: “These latest flight increases aligned with our seamless and practical connections at Abu Dhabi and our growing global network offer our guests more opportunities to fly where they want to at a time that suits them.”
