Former ITC

Launched in 2023, Shiftz, the first-of-its-kind staffing platform for the hospitality industry, has been aggressively making its mark in the industry. In its most recent feat, Shiftz has secured investment from Nakul Anand, the recently retired Director of ITC Group. Anand has been a leading force in the hospitality and tourism industry with a career spanning over 4 decades.

According to a report by the Crisil Ratings, the hospitality industry is expected to grow by 11-13% in FY 2025 with steady increase in domestic demand and foreign tourism. The investment in Shiftz by Anand comes at a perfect moment with the organization aiming to grow along with the overall projected growth of the industry.

Anand said, “People are the backbone of the hospitality industry but unfortunately there has been no advancements in this process for our industry. When I met Rachit and Pranav and saw their value proposition, I really liked the approach and solution, and the hard work put into bringing their platform Shiftz to this level. I believe the ease of hiring and giving transparency to the business owners is a real winner here. I believe in the team and their way of solving this problem and there is definitely a huge opportunity which is there in front of us not only in India but globally.”

Aiming to solve the staffing issues in the hospitality industry related to high level of attrition and lack of consistent talent, Shiftz has already worked with some of the biggest names of the industry like Taj Hotels, Ginger Hotels, Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, Barista Coffee, Chalet Hotels amongst others. Shiftz uses an AI-enabled discovery engine that helps companies find the most relevant on-demand worker and each profile goes through rigorous background check and detailed verification.

Rachit Mathur, CEO, Shiftz, said, “The hospitality and tourism industry had taken one of the most severe hits during the pandemic. It’s again gaining momentum and we are going to make the most out of this under the visionary guidance of Mr. Nakul Anand. His investment in Shiftz is a prestigious moment for all of us and we look forward to learning from his expansive experience in leading the industry.”

Shiftz is currently operating in India and UAE and already has over 50,000 users on the platform, growing at 50% month on month. It helps the hospitality businesses scale their operations without having to incur fixed pay roll cost by connecting them with the right profiles of workers. The organization aims to become an aspirational platform for all professionals in the hospitality industry.

The platform addresses all aspects of remote workforce management starting from communication, security, task management, discovery engine, dashboard for transparency and upskilling tools. Shiftz app has been designed to improve productivity, increase stickiness, and also provide flexible choices to both parties.
