Hyatt Hotels Corporation has expanded its luxury footprint with the opening of Alila Mayakoba, marking the debut of its Alila brand in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Developed in partnership with RLH Properties, the resort features 182 rooms, suites and villas spread across a 60-acre beachfront and lagoon setting in Riviera Maya. The opening signals Hyatt’s continued push in the high-end experiential travel segment, with a strong focus on wellness-led and culturally immersive stays.
Positioned as a nature-integrated luxury retreat, the property blends beachfront and lagoon experiences, alongside multiple dining venues and a wellness-focused spa rooted in Mayan traditions. The resort is part of the larger Mayakoba enclave, a key luxury destination on Mexico’s Caribbean coast.
The launch comes as global demand for experiential and wellness tourism continues to rise, with brands increasingly focusing on culturally rooted and sustainability-driven offerings to attract high-value travellers.
With this opening, Hyatt strengthens its presence in Mexico’s luxury resort market while introducing the Alila brand to a new geography, signalling further expansion of its experiential luxury portfolio.
