Vinitaly Indian Roadshow 2025: Italian Wine and Culture Make a Grand Entry into India

Vinitaly, the world’s largest wine exposition, has launched its inaugural Indian Roadshow in New Delhi, marking a significant step in strengthening India-Italy cultural and trade ties. Hosted at the Embassy of Italy, the event precedes the 57th edition of Vinitaly 2025 in Verona (April 6-9), where over 4,000 wine producers will gather. The roadshow features 12 renowned Italian wine producers, including Foss Marai and Vajra, showcasing Italy’s rich winemaking heritage.

Italian Ambassador Antonio Bartoli emphasized wine’s cultural significance, calling it a symbol of conviviality and shared values between Italy and India. The event aligns with the anticipated EU-India Free Trade Agreement, which could reduce import duties on European wines, boosting India’s growing wine market. Currently, wine consumption in India is growing at a 17% CAGR, with projections of a 40% increase by 2028.

The roadshow highlights Italy’s diverse wine offerings, from sustainable practices by Maria Faretra wines to ancient traditions revived by Vinum Hadrianum. With Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani leading a business delegation to India in April, the event underscores the potential for deeper economic and cultural collaboration. Vinitaly’s presence in India not only promotes Italian wine but also reinforces its role as a bridge for trade and diplomacy between the two nations.
