IHCL to Open Taj Hotel in Ayodhya by 2026 in Collaboration with Solitaire Group

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Taj hotel in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, in partnership with the Solitaire Group. This brownfield project marks a significant step in IHCL’s strategy of developing spiritual circuits across India, catering to the growing demand for premium hospitality in pilgrimage destinations.

The 300-key Taj Ayodhya, spanning 7.2 acres, will feature 29 luxury villas and be designed by renowned Indian fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani. The hotel will offer an all-day diner, two specialty restaurants, the J Wellness Circle spa, a gym, a swimming pool, and a kids’ club. For events and celebrations, it will provide expansive banqueting facilities covering over 34,000 sq. ft. Conveniently located near the Lucknow-Ayodhya Highway, the hotel is just 20 minutes from the Ram Mandir.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & CEO of IHCL, highlighted the company’s commitment to spiritual tourism, citing IHCL’s multi-brand presence in Rishikesh, Haridwar, Vrindavan, Prayagraj, and Varanasi. He added that the Taj Ayodhya aligns with the brand’s focus on creating luxury experiences in significant spiritual destinations.

Shivani and Mayank Jaiswal of the Solitaire Group expressed their excitement about bringing the iconic Taj brand to Ayodhya, aiming to elevate the city’s hospitality offerings. With its rich mythology and history as the birthplace of Lord Ram, Ayodhya attracts global visitors during festivals like Deepotsav Ayodhya, Ram Navmi Mela, and Ram Lila.

The Taj Ayodhya is expected to open in 2026, further expanding IHCL’s footprint in Uttar Pradesh to 31 hotels, including 18 under development.
