Akasa Air Expands Fleet with 27th Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft, Strengthening Its Rapid Growth

Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, has received its 27th aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX (VT-YBD), at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, on January 29, 2025. The aircraft’s journey included stops in Keflavik, Iceland, and Larnaca, Cyprus, before arriving in India. This milestone marks another step in Akasa Air’s rapid expansion since its launch in August 2022.

Founder and CEO Vinay Dube emphasized the airline’s vision to build a long-lasting, trusted, and reliable airline, aiming to be among the top 30 global carriers by the end of the decade. Akasa Air has consistently expanded its fleet, placing an order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft within just 17 months of operations. The airline remains committed to sustainability, with the fuel-efficient 737 MAX reducing carbon emissions by 20% and noise footprint by 40%.

With over 4,000 employees, Akasa Air is dedicated to service excellence, operational efficiency, and creating career opportunities in aviation. It has served over 15 million passengers and now connects 22 domestic and five international destinations, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Doha, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait City. With another 199 aircraft set for delivery over the next seven years, Akasa Air continues to redefine Indian aviation with reliable and affordable travel.
