IHCL Expands Footprint in Uttar Pradesh with New Ginger Hotel Signing in Kanpur

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality group, has announced the signing of a new Ginger hotel in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, further strengthening its presence in one of the country’s key emerging markets. The upcoming hotel will be a greenfield development located on Kalpi Road, near the Kamala Cricket Club, offering strategic connectivity to major business and leisure hubs in the city.

The 100-key Ginger Kanpur will feature modern amenities including the brand’s signature all-day diner Qmin, a bar, meeting room, and a fully equipped fitness centre, catering to the evolving needs of both business and leisure travellers.

Commenting on the development, Ms. Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President, New Businesses and Hotel Openings, IHCL, said, “Kanpur is a prominent manufacturing and commercial center in Uttar Pradesh, making it an ideal location for Ginger’s offering. This signing is part of our strategy to expand Ginger’s footprint in emerging cities. We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with JK Urbanscapes Developers Limited.”

With the addition of this new hotel, IHCL’s portfolio in Uttar Pradesh grows to 34 properties, including 21 under development. The move aligns with IHCL’s strategic vision to broaden its reach across Tier II and Tier III cities through the Ginger brand, offering smart, vibrant, and affordable hospitality for the modern Indian traveller.
