HRAWI Seeks License Fee Relief Amid LPG Crisis Impacting Hospitality Sector

The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) (HRAWI) has urged the Maharashtra Government to extend the annual license fee deadline or allow staggered payments, citing severe disruption caused by an ongoing commercial LPG shortage.

In a representation to Deputy Chief Minister *Sunetra Ajit Pawar, the association has requested a *one-month extension from March 31 to April 30, or alternatively, a quarterly payment mechanism.

According to HRAWI, nearly *30–35% of hotels and restaurants are currently shut, while others are operating with reduced hours and limited menus due to fuel constraints. The crisis has led to *25–30% business losses nationwide, along with event cancellations, reduced occupancy, and rising operating costs.

The association warned that many establishments could shut within days if LPG supplies are not restored, further impacting employment and supply chains.

HRAWI said easing payment timelines would help businesses manage cash flow pressures, while also calling for urgent government intervention to restore LPG supply.
