Sayaji Hotels Enters Hill Destinations Segment with Effotel by Sayaji in Gangtok

Strengthening its presence in India’s growing leisure travel market, Sayaji Hotels has announced the launch of Effotel by Sayaji in Gangtok, marking the brand’s entry into India’s hill destination hospitality segment.

Located in one of the country’s fastest-growing mountain tourism hubs, the newly launched property features 32 rooms across Deluxe King, Deluxe Twin and Suite categories. The hotel has been designed to cater to the evolving preferences of modern leisure travellers seeking comfort, connectivity and experiential stays in scenic destinations.

With the launch, Sayaji Hotels aims to further strengthen its footprint in high-potential leisure markets across India, particularly as destinations in the Northeast continue to witness increasing demand from domestic travellers.

Commenting on the launch, Rajendra Joshi, Associate General Manager at Sayaji Hotels, said the company is pleased to bring the Effotel by Sayaji experience to Gangtok, a destination that is steadily gaining prominence among leisure and experiential travellers.

He added that the hotel aims to offer a smart, comfortable and well-connected stay experience while complementing Gangtok’s blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. According to him, the destination represents an important addition to the group’s expanding portfolio in emerging leisure markets.

Sharing his views on the opening, Sangay Tenzing Norbu, Managing Director and owner of the property, said the hotel has been envisioned as a space reflecting the warmth and spirit of the region while maintaining the quality standards associated with the Sayaji brand.

The launch comes at a time when hill destinations and experiential tourism continue to drive travel demand in India, with destinations such as Gangtok attracting increasing interest from families, young travellers and premium leisure segments throughout the year.
