Hospitality technology platform OYO has permanently removed two properties in Ghaziabad—Hotel Stay Inn and Hotel Dream Empire—from its network following allegations of unlawful activities. Six individuals have been detained, and an inquiry is underway after a formal complaint was filed.
OYO stated that the agreements with both properties had expired prior to this action, but the removal ensures these hotels are permanently excluded from its platform. This step reflects OYO’s zero-tolerance policy towards unethical conduct and commitment to safe and secure hospitality.
Nitin Thakur, OYO’s Global Head of Strategic Alliances and Communication, emphasized that such incidents often occur at unauthorized properties using OYO branding. He highlighted the company’s efforts to enhance monitoring and collaborate with law enforcement to maintain safety standards.
As part of its safety initiatives, OYO has launched a national program in partnership with enforcement agencies, conducting seminars in cities like Noida, Lucknow, and Kolkata to discuss guest safety, emergency protocols, and collaboration with authorities. The company also provides safety training to its partners to identify and address concerning behaviors, ensuring compliance with local safety regulations.
OYO encourages the public to report any such incidents, assuring swift and professional action.
