The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) is set to hold its 54th Annual Convention from October 16 to 18, 2024, at Taj Cidade de Goa, Horizon. The event, which aims to shape the future of India’s tourism sector, will be inaugurated by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister for Tourism.
This year’s theme, “Tourism @2047,” reflects a long-term vision for India’s tourism sector, emphasizing sustainable growth and innovation as key drivers to support the country’s transformation into a developed nation by 2047. Around 800 delegates, including industry leaders and global experts, are expected to attend.
Pradeep Shetty, President of FHRAI, underscored the importance of this year’s convention, stating, “The 54th FHRAI Annual Convention in Goa is a landmark event where industry leaders gather to discuss strategies and innovations that will shape the future of India’s hospitality and tourism sectors. The theme ‘Tourism @2047’ emphasises our long-term vision of making India a $3 trillion tourism powerhouse by 2047. This convention will set the stage for that journey, highlighting the importance of sustainable growth and collaboration.”
He added that the convention will highlight the tourism industry’s potential to be a key engine of economic growth, while fostering new initiatives and partnerships.
Several prominent figures will be present, including Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, Shripad Yeso Naik, Minister of State for Power, New & Renewable Energy, and Suman Billa, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism. The event will also feature a special guest appearance from Jonty Rhodes, the renowned South African cricketer.
The convention will offer a range of activities, including business sessions on growth and sustainability strategies, a hospitality exhibition, cultural performances, and the FHRAI Hospitality Excellence Awards, which will honour emerging professionals in the industry.
With its focus on sustainable tourism and economic development, the 54th FHRAI Annual Convention promises to be a pivotal moment in the future of India’s hospitality sector, marking the beginning of an ambitious journey towards transforming India into a $3 trillion tourism economy by 2047.
