elhi: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Thanishq Grande Hotels & Resorts to develop a 200-key Holiday Inn Sriperumbudur, strengthening its footprint in emerging industrial hubs in India.
The hotel, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2029, will be located in Sriperumbudur, a rapidly growing industrial and manufacturing hub near Chennai. Strategically positioned along the Chennai–Bengaluru highway, the location is witnessing strong demand driven by automotive, electronics, and aerospace industries, along with expanding logistics and warehousing activity.
The property will feature 200 rooms and suites, along with three dining outlets, a ballroom for events, and wellness facilities including a swimming pool and fitness centre. The hotel is expected to cater to a mix of corporate, transit, and spiritual travellers, given the region’s industrial significance as well as its proximity to religious and heritage attractions.
Commenting on the development, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the signing aligns with the group’s strategy of expanding in high-growth commercial centres across the country.
The partner company also expressed confidence that the Holiday Inn brand will emerge as a preferred choice for business and leisure travellers visiting the region.
IHG currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India and has a strong pipeline of 89 hotels expected to open over the next three to five years, reflecting its continued focus on scaling operations in key markets.
The latest signing underscores a broader industry trend of hotel brands targeting industrial corridors and secondary markets, where demand is being driven by infrastructure development and corporate travel.
