IHG to Launch Holiday Inn in Bengaluru’s Electronic City by 2029

Second collaboration with Thanishq Hospitality targets India’s booming tech hub

IHG® Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in hospitality, has signed a management agreement with Thanishq Hospitality to develop Holiday Inn Bengaluru Electronic City, slated to open in the first quarter of 2029. This marks IHG’s continued push into high-growth Indian markets, with a focus on serving both business and leisure travellers.

The upcoming property will be the second Holiday Inn in Bengaluru, strategically positioned to serve the city’s dynamic Electronic City micro-market—home to some of India’s largest IT companies. The 200-key hotel will feature the brand’s next-gen Open Lobby concept, reimagining traditional hotel spaces into multifunctional zones for work, dining, and relaxation.

The hotel will offer three dining options, four versatile meeting venues including a ballroom, a gym, swimming pool, and ample parking—positioning it as a strong option for both corporate and social gatherings.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director – South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the new signing reinforces IHG’s long-term commitment to Bengaluru, a city he called “a global technology and business hub.”“This is our second project with Thanishq Hospitality, and reflects a strong, growing partnership. With each hotel tailored to serve different demand centres, this new addition strengthens our Holiday Inn portfolio in a critical metropolitan market,” Jain added.

Thanishq Grande Hotels & Resorts Managing Partner, S. Sudeesh, echoed the optimism: “Our collaboration with IHG has been fruitful, and this second project is a testament to the trust and shared vision between us. We aim to blend IHG’s international standards with our deep understanding of the local market.”

R. Sundaram, Partner at Thanishq, said Electronic City’s status as a corporate and innovation hub makes it a prime location for premium hospitality: “Bengaluru’s growth demands world-class infrastructure, and this hotel is our response to that need.”Globally, the Holiday Inn brand operates more than 1,200 hotels, known for its guest-centric innovation and trusted reputation. With Bengaluru continuing to attract global investments in tech, defence, and education, IHG’s latest venture places it at the heart of India’s most vibrant growth story.
