Strengthening its operational leadership amid rapid expansion across the Eastern Himalayan region, Summit Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Deepak Bothra as Corporate General Manager.
Bringing nearly three decades of extensive experience in the hospitality sector, Bothra is recognised for his expertise in hotel operations, pre-opening projects, quality control, and revenue management. Over the years, he has worked with a mix of leading international and regional hotel brands, holding senior leadership roles and contributing to the successful launch, stabilisation, and turnaround of multiple properties.
In his new role, Bothra will lead operational strategy across Summit’s expanding portfolio, with a sharp focus on enhancing service standards and driving performance optimisation. As the group continues to strengthen its footprint across Sikkim, Darjeeling, and the wider Northeast region, his mandate will include streamlining operational systems, reinforcing quality benchmarks, and ensuring brand consistency across all properties.
The appointment comes at a critical growth phase for Summit Hotels & Resorts, which has been steadily expanding its presence in high-potential leisure destinations across the Eastern Himalayas, catering to the rising demand for experiential and boutique stays in the region.
Commenting on the development, Sumit Mitruka, CEO of Summit Hotels & Resorts, said, “Deepak brings a rare combination of operational depth and quality-driven thinking. As we continue to expand our network across the Northeast, strengthening internal systems and service standards becomes critical. His experience in building and refining hotel operations will play a key role in driving consistency and long-term performance across our portfolio.”
With this strategic leadership addition, Summit Hotels & Resorts aims to further elevate guest experience while ensuring operational excellence across its growing network in one of India’s most scenic and emerging tourism regions.
