IHCL Enters Tuticorin with Greenfield Ginger Hotel Project

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has marked its entry into Tuticorin (Thoothukudi), Tamil Nadu, with the announcement of a Ginger-branded hotel, expanding its presence in emerging industrial markets in South India. The project is a greenfield development.

Strategically located along the Tirunelveli–Tuticorin highway, the hotel will offer easy access to the city’s industrial and commercial hubs. The upcoming property will feature 100 rooms, catering to business and long-stay travellers.

The hotel will include Ginger’s signature Qmin restaurant, a bar designed for social engagement, flexible meeting spaces for corporate requirements, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

Tuticorin is witnessing accelerated economic activity, driven by growth in automobile, energy, manufacturing and maritime sectors, creating increasing demand for quality accommodation. IHCL’s entry through its lean-luxe Ginger brand is aimed at addressing this evolving market need.

The project is being developed in partnership with Mr. R. Gajendran, promoter of Thangam Real Estate & Thangam Plots & Farms Pvt. Ltd., who brings over three decades of real estate experience and a strong land bank across Tamil Nadu.

With this addition, IHCL’s portfolio in Tamil Nadu will expand to 28 hotels, including 10 under development, reinforcing the company’s focus on growth in high-potential destinations.
